Throughout my studio I have lots of soprano singers! In addition to that, I have many books for students to use during competition season. In The First Book of Soprano Solos Part II, there are two songs that are considered favorites!

Come and Trip It

Come and Trip It is a piece that is definitely advanced and has a dance feel. When I studied this in college, I enjoyed the challenge and worked hard to get every note right. The song is quick and light which gives a bouncy feel so students will enjoy singing this once they get it down!

To a Wild Rose

To a Wild Rose is for a sweet soprano who loves a good story. One of my favorite aspects of this piece is the difference between the A and B section. In addition to that, the piece is full of challenging intervals to work on a students ear training and sight singing. To a Wild Rose is a lovely piece for a soprano who is being introduced to classical pieces.
